1) Download the latest Oracle XE database from the oracle website. It is free of cost. ( This wizard if for Oracle XE database 11 version 2 for Win 32)
2) Install the database and save the following information.
This is password for SYS/SYSTEM
This is database server details
3) Click on install. Following wizard will open and will take few minutes :
4) Once installation is complete click on getting started icon.

It will take you to create workspace screen first time when you enter the username and password.
Since we are interested in working on existing HR schema, Give workspace name as 'HR'.
username as 'hr' and password as 'hr'
7) After clicking on 'create workspace', it will show the confirmation screen.
8) Click here to login,and click on already have a account.
9) Fill the following details :
10) Now when you are inside your workspace, you can play with differnt tools and components inside.
We can see various objects in HR schema by clicking on Sql Workshop. By default it shows all the tables in current schema.
11) By clicking on dropdown you can see all the available database objects.
12. We can also run the SQL commands from Sql commands window.
